Place any large water jar trap to any suitable walkway of cockroaches, filling  it partially. At night time roaches will enter into it and will not be able to escape. You can also mix some kerosene oil in it, for increasing the toxic effect of the liquid. This will ensure 100% dead of trapped roaches. This technique is one of the best ways to get rid of roaches.


Soda Bottle Trap

Another best way to get rid of roaches is customized soda bottle trap.  You need an empty soda bottle, a knife, and some tape for joining the parts of the bottle. Cut the soda bottle into two pieces and then join the parts as shown in the sketch. Partially fill it up with water and set it to any dark, and moist place of your house. Cucumber Peels

People tell cucumber peels are good for controlling those dirty insects. Roaches stay away from cucumbers peels. So, you can use this as bait for keeping your house roach free. It may not be best way to get rid of roaches, but it may work.


Adhesive Traps

Roaches can be controlled by using adhesive traps. Those traps are available in grocery shops near to your house.  Buy some adhesive traps and spread around the roach infested areas. Some adhesive traps contain pheromone which attracts them strongly.


Why Not Boric Acid!!!!

Like many other insects you can use boric acid as one of the best way to get rid of roaches. This is not very toxic, so you can use them inside your house. Boric acid kills roaches and keeps our house roach free. Buy some boric acid and sprinkle around the infested areas.

  5. I hate bugs, I have always hated bugs, and I will always hate them. My husband and I just moved into a new home, and their are so many little critters, I can't stand it. I am willing to try just about anything to get rid of them. I think I am going to make a couple of traps, like the soda bottle one, and also put out a few of the adhesive traps out. I want them gone, and I want them gone fast.

  6. These sound like some good natural ways to get rid of roaches. A lot of people worry about using chemicals because they don't want to harm other things with the chemicals. I like to be sure that pests are dead, but I am open to using things that don't involve chemicals. What would be the best method if you have pets or children?

  10. I haven't ever seen that soda bottle trap for roaches before. I've heard that there's a bit of a roach infestation going around my neighborhood right now, so I'll have to try that trap out. If I end up catching a few with it, then I might try and call a pest control company. There's no way I'm going to catch all of the roaches in my home with a few simple traps.

Maybe one of these methods will be effective for warding away cockroaches from the apartment that I'll be living in once I move to New York. I think that one of the most interesting ways of warding them away is by using cucumber peels by leaving them around my apartment. What is it about them that make roaches want to stay away from my space? I would like to know more about how cucumber peels are supposed to be effective.
